The winner of the 2023 Photo and Video Salon photo contest will win the grand prize, valued at $4,000. The 3 finalists will receive a prize valued at $2,000.

The names of the winners will be announced live from the Salon de la photo et vidéo, on October 15, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the ExpoCité fairgrounds in Quebec City and on October 22, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard.

In addition, among all the works received, 250 photos selected by the jury will be exhibited at the Salon de la photo et vidéo of Québec and Brossard.

Admissibility Criteria

  • Entry forms and photos must be submitted by October 1, 2023, 11:59 p.m.
  • Photographers can only participate in one contest, either the Quebec or Brossard contest.
  • Participants must reside in Quebec and be aged 18 or over.
  • Participants can send a maximum of 4 participation forms, one form and one photo for each theme.

Technical specifications

  • Maximum length : 120 seconds

FORMATS :
Amateur short film, financed by the director and presenting an original scenario.

TYPE OF REALISATION :
Live action, taken after January 1, 2023. All genres are allowed, with the exception of films for advertising or industrial purposes.

LANGAGE :
The short film must be made in French or, if necessary, subtitled in French.

A screening of the finalist short films will take place on October 15 at the ExpoCité fairgrounds in Quebec City and on October 22 at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard. It will be followed by the announcement of the winners.

The winner of the Salon de la photo et vidéo 2023 contest will win the grand prize of $5,000. The 2 finalists will receive a prize of $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.

Admissibility Criteria

  • The director undertakes that his short film respects the intellectual property, reputation and privacy of third parties, is free from denigrating, hateful, aggressive or offensive remarks and does not incite any form of discrimination.
  • The participation form must include :
    - a digital photograph of the short;
    - a photograph of the director;
    - a synopsis of a maximum of 200 words of the short film.
  • Entrants must submit the entry form and video URL link by 11:59 p.m. on October 1, 2023 specifying in which city they wish to compete. Only one entry per short film will be accepted.
  • Participants must reside in Quebec and be aged 18 or over.
